learned: Counseling Center will create green agriculture in the Minsk region

Belarus started the project “Green agriculture without borders” Cross-border cooperation program Latvia – Lithuania – Belarus in the framework of the European Neighborhood Instrument to 2014-2020 years, BelTA learned from the project coordinator Galina Matyushenko.

The strategic objective of the program is to strengthen cooperation, increasing the capacity and experience exchange between people and organizations through joint action, aimed at improving the overall quality of life in border regions. The project aims – creating opportunities for employment in rural areas, improving the entrepreneurial potential of farms and the development of cooperation in the field of organic agriculture in cross-border regions of Latvia, Lithuania and Belarus – Lithuania – Belarus.

“In addition to general agricultural skills, local farmer must have some knowledge about the organization of business, marketing, organic certification, understanding the laws of the market”, – said project coordinator. To achieve these goals, the project on the territory of the incubator of small business JSC “MAP ZAO” in the Minsk region to local fund sustainable development “Innovations for the regions” Consulting Center will create green agriculture. Through a series of seminars and cross-border activities, in particular international and regional forums and fairs, training, the project is planned to involve at least 200 local farmers and interested in setting up businesses in rural areas residents of Minsk and Grodno regions, which will increase their capacity in entrepreneurship and organic agricultural production.

The cross-border aspect of the project will give local farmers the opportunity to participate in the joint cross-border activities and promote networking.
