The local economy (TG): Tamara Vasilievna, you have a private household. Why did you decide to do this business?
Tamara Vasilyeva (TV): I professional biologist with more than 40 years old. Prior to the establishment of her personal subsidiary plots, she led agricultural projects at the Unnat Station in the city of Kobrin. Also, engaged in crop projects in Lithuania and Latvia.
She founded her own LPH EcoOgorod in 2001 year near the Center of ecological tourism "Stankovo" in 30 km from the city of Minsk as a family business, for your own pleasure, maintaining health and fitness.
LPH specializes in growing agricultural products: seedlings, shrub saplings, greenery, vegetables, fruits, berries, the flowers.
TG: There are many farmers in our country, who specialize in such areas. What is the highlight of your LPH?
TV: Before we start doing personal farming, we set a goal - provide themselves and relatives with fresh and environmentally friendly agricultural products.
Therefore, a feature of our economy is the traditional cultivation of plants in open ground without the use of greenhouses. Watering is carried out only by collected rainwater. We practice multicultural farming.
TG: That is, you have a completely organic economy. And what exactly do you grow?
TV: I grow seedlings, shrub saplings, seasonal fruits and vegetables of various types and varieties:
greens - onions of different varieties, garlic, parsley, dill, celery, arugula, spinach, salads, kinza, lovage, basil, rosemary, sorrel and others;
medicinal herbs - calendula, mint, melissa, sage, chamomile, lavender and others;
fruits and berries - apples, pears, merry, cherry, plum, gooseberry, black currant, Red Ribes, Strawberry, wild strawberries, raspberry, blackberry, grape;
ground vegetables, I grow without a greenhouse - tomatoes, cucumbers, sweet and hot peppers, гогошары (group of varieties of vegetable pepper - Note.TG) squash, zucchini, zucchini, pumpkin, cabbage (color, broccoli, white-headed), root celery, potatoes, beans, beans, black Eyed Peas, peas, carrot, beet, turnip, radish, radish, leeks
Seedlings and seedlings of shrubs - blackcurrant and seedlings of vegetables (tomatoes, cabbage, celery, leeks, the flowers).
Flowers are an integral part of EcoCity. They are matched like that, so that flowering plants succeed each other from spring to autumn.
TG: Such a variety! You have a large plot?
TV: I have everything 10 hectare. On such a small plot, I grow a variety of products, taking into account crop rotation.
TG: Tamara Vasilievna, You grow products for your own consumption or you can buy it somewhere?
TV: We sell our products on the market in the city of Dzerzhinsk and on the Komarovsky market in Minsk. You can pre-order either personally or come to EcoOgorod and choose any necessary products for the season.
TG: Tamara Vasilievna, despite your experience and professionalism, do you need any support or advice on farming?
TV: No doubt, need and constantly. for example, in the organization of product sales, collecting orders and delivering orders to customers.
TG: What are your plans for the future?
TV: Get certification of environmentally friendly products and improve the technology of growing garden crops.
TG: Tamara Vasilievna, our traditional question: what advice would you give novice farmers, by, who only thinks to start farming?
